Three months later, Jonathan shared with his parents about how he felt God leading him and contacted Mr. Staddon. After asking Jonathan many questions, Mr. and Mrs. Staddon felt it was a very real possibility and told Esther of Jonathan’s interest in October of 2019.

As Jonathan and Esther began to communicate through email, God continued to impress upon their hearts that they were to continue seeking His will together. In June 2020, they added the multitude of counselors of their siblings, and began to communicate more by phone.

In September 2020, the Lord gave Esther assurance through a plethora of Bible verses that His will was for her to marry Jonathan. In October 2020, He gave an opportunity through IBLP for Jonathan to travel to West Virginia. While he was there, God showed Jonathan through Psalms 106, 16 and 76 that he was to ask Esther to marry him that week. On October 18, 2020 exactly one year to the day from the time her father told her of Jonathan’s interest, Esther said, “Yes!”
